Migrating from another trust center

Moving to a new trust center should not mean starting over with the customers and prospects who already rely on your old one. When you migrate, the record of who signed your NDA and who subscribed to your updates comes with you, along with the content you already published, so nobody has to sign again and nothing has to be retyped. You export your data from your current tool as CSV files and bring it in with the same upload, map, and review flow used everywhere in Openlane, matching your columns to ours as you go.

You set up your custom domain, documents, frameworks, and customer logos directly in Openlane rather than importing them. Your branding does not need rebuilding by hand either. Detect it from your website instead.

  1. Set up your branding. Click Detect Branding from Domain on the branding page to pull your colors, fonts, logo, and favicon from your website into preview. Fine-tune the colors with the live color preview and publish when it matches.
  2. Upload your NDA document. Signed NDAs can be imported only after your NDA is on the NDAs page.
  3. Import subprocessors.
  4. Import FAQs.
  5. Import signed NDAs.
  6. Import documents.
  7. Select frameworks.
  8. Select implemented controls.
  9. Highlight your customers.
  10. Point your custom domain at Openlane. Do this once everything is in place, so visitors switch over to a complete Trust Center. Your default Openlane URL is hidden from search engines from the start, so the Trust Center stays out of search results while you migrate. Leave that setting on so results point to your own domain.
  11. Import subscribers. Do this last, so your subscribers start with fresh updates instead of old content.

Subprocessors

Open Import subprocessors, or select Bulk Upload from the ... menu on the Subprocessors page. Name is the only required column. You can also map:

ColumnWhat it does

CountriesLists where the subprocessor operates, as country names or ISO codes separated by ;, |, or ,
CategorySets the category shown in your Trust Center, creating new categories as needed

Subprocessor imports have a Match subprocessors step instead of Review. Openlane matches each name in your file against its subprocessor catalog and your own custom subprocessors, so well-known vendors such as AWS link to the existing catalog entry with its logo and details.

A row that matches links to the existing subprocessor. Matches on a close spelling or an acronym are marked as suggestions, which you can review one by one or accept together with Confirm suggestions. A row that matches nothing becomes a custom subprocessor with a logo from its website, and its details let you add or correct the website, logo, description, or tags. You can point any row at a different subprocessor, create it as a custom subprocessor, or choose Don't import this row.

Set default countries and a default category to fill in rows that have no value in your file. Values that are not countries, such as a region name, are listed so you can choose the countries each one stands for, and every row using that value updates. Rows already in your Trust Center and duplicates within the file are flagged so they are not added twice.

Use the tabs above the list to work through long files, then click Add to add the subprocessors to your Trust Center.

FAQs

Open Import FAQs, or click Bulk Upload on the FAQs page. Question and Answer are required. You can also map a Reference Link where buyers can read more and a Category, and Openlane creates any category that does not exist yet.

Do you encrypt customer data at rest?,Yes. All customer data is encrypted at rest with AES-256.,Security,https://example.com/security

On the Review step, drag the rows to set the order of the imported FAQs. They always land after any FAQs you already have, so reordering here changes only their order relative to each other.

Signed NDAs

If visitors already signed your NDA in your previous trust center, import those records so your NDA history carries over. Open Import signed NDAs, or click Import Signed NDAs on the NDAs page.

Email, First Name, and Last Name are required. You can also map the signer's company and the date they signed, and columns such as Organization, Employer, Date Signed, or Executed On are recognized for you.

Each imported record counts as signed and links to your Trust Center and your current NDA document.

Subscribers

On the Subscribers page, select Bulk Upload from the ... menu. Email is the only required column. Your Trust Center must be accepting new subscribers, so turn on Allow new subscribers first if it is off.

Imported subscribers are marked as verified and start receiving notifications right away.
